about

Two Portraits of Winged Critters is a set of two short mirror pieces exploring the worlds of a butterfly and a moth. The first portrait,
“Wake, Butterfly!” is based off a haiku by the well-known
Zen master and poet, Basho. One can easily imagine the
butterfly flitting along as the zen master, hurrying along
his winged companion, tries to calm himself down.

On the other hand, the second portrait, “Mind's Underground Moths”,
excerpt from a poem by Rabindranath Tagore, portrays
a slightly eerie image of a slow-moving moth that one
may encounter in one's mind. The contrast between the
two portraits is light and dark, active and sluggish,
yin and yang.
